Powercut returned for its second year with 'Purple Rain' - Friday After Freshers - and immediately set a new benchmark for student nightlife at the University of Surrey. The event became the best-selling and highest-grossing night in the history of Rubix, selling out all 1,550 tickets. Guest list was held at the door until every ticket holder had entered, and the on-door queue was still deep at 2AM - just one hour before close. The lineup featured Trezzor, Senses, TR Gobrazy as a special guest artist, TiiaKJ, Tricz, and Ariies. Powercut also debuted a completely reworked design system for its second season - an original poster style and visual identity that has since been replicated by promoters across London and the UK. What Powercut originated in its promotional design is now widely imitated beyond the university scene. Six months away changed nothing. If anything, it proved that Powercut's hold on nightlife had only grown stronger.
