Following the triumph of our inaugural event, we aimed not just to replicate September’s energy but to elevate the entire university nightlife experience. Powercut 2 once again surpassed expectations, shining the spotlight on fresh talent and introducing renowned names to Surrey University. Under Trezzor’s careful curation, the lineup welcomed @HeySenses, gifted videographer @TediousVisuals, and marked the Rubix Stage debut of home-grown DJ ‘SoundsBySyrus.’ Opening for Trezzor, building a crowd from scratch of more than 1,000 people at peak energy. For the promotional build-up, we developed another entirely new visual campaign from scratch. Drawing on Maximalist design principles—heavily influenced by the works of LTJ Bukem and the ‘Soft Gen X Club’ aesthetic—the poster demanded attention amidst the usual flurry of Canva-based flyers. Although the creative process was frenetic, the final result was a true one-of-a-kind piece. The post-event response confirmed Powercut’s status as the people’s champion in Surrey. Rave reviews poured in, and the social media buzz soared to levels unheard of for such a modestly followed account. Untagged videos of Powercut, uploaded by TikTok special guest Ali K, garnered over 700,000 views—an explosion of online interest that reverberated far beyond the university scene, signaling yet another game-changing moment for Powercut.
